We
used gradients to create some colorful images. I did not feel
like I had much control over what happened here so this was not a whole
lot of fun for me. Here are my two images.

The
next images involve using an iteration technique which applied
Ctrl-Alt-Shift-T multiple times. It seemed to work ok. But
you can't make a silk purse out of a ...... you know the tale.

Snowflakes
were my downfall. I did not understand the instructions, and had
a great deal of difficulty making one. I had multiple failures
until I stumbled on one success. So I stopped. This was
nowhere close to fun.

Second Attempt at snowflakes.
Janee adjusted her write-up on how to do snowflakes, and this
time I went sailing through with a much better attitude. The next
three images were created using the Ctrl-Alt-Shift-T technique for the
snowflakes plus Combining the sections immediately after the
iterations. It was sooo easy. It was so easy that I strayed
from the ordinary snowflake materials and went with gold and
wood. In the first image, I used the pen tool to create the
various cutouts and overlayed with a gold layer effect.

In
the second image, I used the Custom Shape Tool just to see if it would
also create the cutouts. It did the job quite nicely. See
if you can recognize any of the shapes.

For
the final image, I started with the gold snowflake (which I initially
called the golden trivet), and did an iterative transform process on it
(just like we did for the second images of the lesson). Then I
selected only every other layer of the transformed layers to create
some visual definition. I like the result, but the next time I
will want to use something with a hole in the middle to act more as a
visual anchor.

The
last section was on fingerpainting. This used the liquify filter.
I did some images, but only thought one was acceptable for posting.
It looks like a weird creature from outer space. I applied
the techniques to two separate levels and overlayed the paintings.
I did not like it, but need to post something.

That's all I have for this course. Not a fun way to end it, but
sometimes that's the way the world goes.
Well, I have a much better attitude now that I can do snowflakes.
I still fall short of some of the graphical experts in this
class, but I feel better about myself. This course was hard, but
an intense learning experience. Bye for
now................
