More About Me

Life After Retirement

Hi. I started this web site when I retired, after 40 years in the Aerospace industry. I have spent much of my post-retirement time learning about working with digital pictures using both Photoshop and Photoshop Elements. I started taking online classes in Photoshop Elements from LVS Online, and then some classes in Photoshop. But the world really started expanding when I started taking online lessons in Photoshop from Janee Aronoff of myjanee.com.

I liked Photoshop so much that for a couple of years I helped Janee teach her courses. However, for personal reasons, Janee has taken time off from her Photoshop work. The students were highly motivated, and it was a great learning experience for me. Janee may start these classes back up in the future. To see if that has happened, take a look at her schedule on Janee's Photoshop Classes.

I am also involved with my local computer club, Computer Booters, leading a group in Photoshop Elements. We are all retired, so we have time to work on photos of the grandkids, trips around the country and abroad, and photos in general. I also participate in a computer group involved with Quicken, the financial software program. In the Spring of 2008, I took over the position of Vice President and Program Director for our club. I coordinate the speakers for our monthly meetings and serve when our President can not make the meetings.

I started a series of Dreamweaver courses in the fall of 2006 from LVS Online. Althea Fox was the instructor and showed us how to design and build our web pages and get them online. The courses were challenging, but rewarding. I now use Dreamweaver to keep this web site up to date. Love the program.

I have taken more LVS Online classes from Ron Lacey, a professional photographer. Ron's focus (that was a fun pun) was on digital photography using normal digital cameras and digital SLRs. Ron has also developed (wow, another one) follow on courses in Photoshop, which I have been taking.

If you want to see more about the courses I have taken (and continue to take) check out this table.
